heliotrope is a piano driven, post-hardcore band with beautiful female vocals. All three members used to play in hardcore/metal/screamo bands and heliotrope is currently on punk/HC label cosmic note records. The absence of guitars and the sublimeness of the vocals (Keiko also sings for JYOCHO) give the band a feel that is far from ‘hardcore’ but the moments of raw intensity and the driving, thunderous drumming definitely expose their hardcore roots.
