THIS IS JAPAN is a 4pc alt-rock band with twin guitars and twin vocals. Their influences include Fugazi and XTC as well as Japanese bands such as Number Girl and Bloodthirsty Butchers. Personally they remind me of FIDLAR but much LOUDER, faster and a lot more skilled. The guitars are breathtakingly furious and chaotic but the songs are highlighted most by incredibly catchy melodies and a willingness to experiment styles from ska to blues to hardcore/punk and shoegaze. Very few bands are as badass, fun and energetic on stage. This band will ROCK you so hard your grandchildren will want to buy their CDs.
