虎の子ラミー (Toranoko Rammy)

Toranoko Rammy (Tiger Cub Rammy) is a 4pc female punk band. However, they don't believe in anarchy nor consider themselves punk so instead they describe themselves as a 'girls punch pop rock band.' Oooo K. Musically Toranoko Rammy sound like No Doubt meets the Offspring (two bands I don't like at all!) To be brutally honest Toranoko Rammy's style of rock is a bit generic for my taste and doesn't really fit the NMFT aesthetic. I had low expectations before watching them live for the first time but all they did was proceed to KICK MY ASS with an insanely charismatic and energetic performance. As trite as some of the melodies are when infused with so much soul and emotion on stage no matter how hard you resist you're forced to smile then bob your head then finally lose your shit at the sheer awesomeness of their ferocity and stage presence. So even though their music makes me cringe at times I'm amazed at how much heart and soul they put into their performance, the honesty and lack of pretension in their character and the strong musicianship they possess for such a young female band. They're four girls who clearly love being on stage and making sure the audience has a blast and very few bands put as much effort into their performance as they do.

update: Toranoko Rammy now refer to themselves as a '3D-Safari rock band.' Because watching them perform live transports you to an African safari where wild beasts (the band members) may jump at you at any time. They say sometimes it's even 4D because of smells and the use of water guns. (lol)
